Lifestyle, Beauty & Fashion

You can expect to find honest reviews, fashion posts and life stories. I enjoy makeup, skin care and fashion, but always on a budget. Want to find a budget friendly skincare range that actually works? In that case, you´re in the right place.

Meeting people these days.

I don't know about you guys, but for me, dating these days is a complete mystery. Even though I made that sound like I have come from the past and knew what it was like back then, I haven't. I have sat through conversations between my Mum and my Aunt about how dating works now and how it used to work back before they got married.

Now, most of us, look for people on dating apps that, to be honest, aren't great. You decide if you want to speak to that person based on their appearance, you can say you don't but we are all guilty of doing it. I find that dating apps are so superficial. Admit it, you've never started up a conversation with someone just because they like the same series as you, well you might of done but not often. Yes, I definitely feel like it makes me a superficial person when I use these apps. But if you're not on Tinder and you don't enjoy going out, how do you meet people? Like, not even just for relationships but friends too. How do you get to know people? I use the internet for everything, I admit that maybe too much. Most of the friends I have, I have made online. I did a post with Chris on his blog about that if you want to check it out.

I don't really know where I am going with this post, I think being able to meet people online is great but also you have to be careful. I wouldn't know what to say or how to act if I had to go up to someone in a pub and introduce myself, unless I have had a couple of drinks. Then your confidence grows and you can take on the world, at least that is what you are lead to believe. I guess it's hard now for younger people because very few people actually want to settle down so young or even have a serious relationship. People want to live life to the fullest and feel like having a relationship ties them down ( I'm not saying everyone is like this, there are a lot of people that aren't). So you never know what to expect from people, are they going to ditch you once they get bored of you? Or are they still keeping their options open and not telling you because they think that's what you want too? Are they ready to settle down or are they making out that they are so that you go along with it? HOW DO YOU KNOW? Am I the only one that thinks this?

I have read a few blog posts about peoples experiences on Tinder and some are really weird. I personally have never had that problem, well I have had some strange people but the conversation usually doesn't last long. Then I decide that Tinder is stupid and delete it, only to download it again a week later. To be honest, I talk to people for about a day and the it's kind of like "okay, what shall we talk about now?" and then the conversation ends. Sometimes you will talk to someone and get on really well with them but after that one talk you will never hear from them again and you then question your ability to socialize.

I don't know, I decided to write this post because I was just wondering what your thoughts are on this subject, so let me know in the comments or on Twitter! Also, if you have done a post on this subject, leave the link in the comments because I would love to read it.

New post every Wednesday and Sunday at 7pm.

  1. Love this.. It's definitely safe to say regarding Tinder that nobody on there is looking for commitment (if you know what I mean!) so I wouldn't even class it as a dating app more of a short-term fulfilment.. Which is a shame for our generation compared to that of our grandparents! :( xx

    1. haha I know what you mean... I'm glad you enjoyed the post! xx
