A Not So Flawless Future For My Skin

Seeing the word "Flawless" in the name of a skincare product is always going to grab my attention. As much as I know that flawless skin is not in the cards for me, that doesn't mean I'm not going to keep trying. So investing £40 in this Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future moisturiser seemed like a great idea to me, oh how wrong was I.

My skin is, unfortunately, very prone to breakouts. It only takes one mistake and I'm paying for it all week. However, I bought this cream because it is said to be a lightweight moisturiser that brightens skin, helps smooth the look of pores and minimize decolourations that may be caused by blemishes. So in reading that, I didn't think that it would cause my skin to breakout.

As soon as I applied it I could feel that it was indeed not a lightweight moisturiser. In fact, after applying it, it kinda just sat there on my skin and took a while to actually soak in. Which isn't really what I'm looking for in a daytime moisturiser, as I usually wake up with very little time to get ready. So waiting around for my moisturiser to decided when it's ready to soak up, is not something I've got the time for.

Even once it'd soaked up a bit, I felt like it just left my skin feeling oily and like I still had a very thin layer of cream over the top of it. Almost like suncream.

I'm so disappointed by this cream, not only because of how much it cost me but also because I'd heard such good things about Elizabeth Arden that I thought to buy it was a safe bet. I'll admit I didn't expect flawless skin as a result, but to make my skin breakout? No thank you.

I did wait it out in the hopes of my skin getting used to the cream and calming the fuck down. However, even after using it for a couple of weeks my breakouts continued and I eventually gave up.

I do want to give some other Elizabeth Arden products a try though. This one wasn't right for me, but that doesn't necessarily mean that there won't be other products that will work for my skin... I've just got to keep looking. So if you have any Elizabeth Arden skin care products you'd recommend, please let me know in the comments! I'd also love to know if you've tried this one and, if so, what you thought of it?
